François Coty started Coty Inc., an American global beauty corporation, in 1904. It develops, manufactures, markets, and sells fragrances, cosmetics, skincare, nail care, and both professional and retail hair care products through its subsidiaries. As of 2018, Coty owned around 77 brands.
Hugo Boss, Burberry, Chloé, Calvin Klein, Gucci, and Davidoff are among the luxury labels with which the company has licensing arrangements. Its products are sold in more than 150 countries, and it employs over 20,000 people.
