Cueva del Indio

Cueva del Indio, or Indian Cave, located right on the raging Atlantic shore and is named after the indigenous hieroglyphs cut into the rocks, is among the Most Impressive Caves in Puerto Rico. Cueva del Indio is a prehistoric rock art site near Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, that is now a public park. In 2003, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The site's artifacts appear to date from the Late Ceramic Period's third phase, about from A.D. 1200 to 1500.

The entrance charge is $5, and it grants you access to breathtaking cliffs, crashing waves, and a natural bridge made of rocks. There used to be a ladder leading down to the cave, but it was destroyed by Hurricane Mara.

Climbers with experience can still descend to the cave, which contains rock engravings created by the Tanos, a people who resided on the island before Columbus and the Spaniards came.
