Río Camuy Cave Park
Camuy is a village on the northwest coast of the Atlantic Ocean with one major claim to fame: the Ro Camuy Cave Park. It has the world's third-largest cavern system with a running underground river. It drew hundreds of visitors each week, both residents and tourists, for decades. There are plenty other attractions to see in the "Romantic City" (no one is quite sure why Camuy is called this).
The Ro Camuy Cave Park is home to the world's third-largest underground river and has the most extensive cave network in the Western Hemisphere. Over 220 underground caves and caverns may be found in the cave system, which runs over 10 miles beneath the city's bustle. The Camuy River has shaped the stalactites, stalagmites, and other rock formations over thousands of years.
The park is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. AST on Wednesday through Sunday. It is not necessary to make a reservation. Please contact the town's tourism office at 787-898-1556 for further information.
