Darling in the FranXX

In the distant future of "Darling in the FranXX," humanity faces extinction at the hands of giant beasts called Klaxosaurs. The surviving humans seek refuge in massive fortress cities named Plantations. Here, children undergo training to pilot FranXX, colossal mechas crucial for defending against Klaxosaurs, in male-female pairs. Raised solely for piloting, these children are confined to the Plantations, unaware of the world beyond, living only to safeguard their race.

Hiro, an aspiring FranXX pilot, loses his motivation and self-confidence after a failed aptitude test. Skipping his graduation ceremony, Hiro encounters a mysterious girl with two horns, codenamed Zero Two, known as the "Partner Killer."

A sudden Klaxosaur attack disrupts the Plantation, and Zero Two, her FranXX damaged, crashes near Hiro. With her partner dead, Zero Two invites Hiro to pilot with her, and together they defeat the Klaxosaur. A chance at redemption is presented to Hiro with a new partner, but what sacrifices will this journey demand throughout "Darling in the FranXX."
