Descartes Systems
Descartes, short for Descartes Systems Group Inc., is a Canadian multinational technology firm that focuses on providing logistics software, supply chain management software, and cloud-based services to the logistics industry.
Descartes nearly went bankrupt after the dot-com boom burst but experienced a remarkable rebound in the middle of the 2000s. It was also one of the first logistics technology businesses to distribute its software online in the form of a subscription service called software as a service (SaaS). Freight firms, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, customs brokers, government agencies, and others can all communicate with one another and share logistics and customs data through the company's Global Logistics Network.
Descartes is a publicly traded corporation with headquarters in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and stock listings on both the NASDAQ Stock Market (NASDAQ: DSGX) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: DSG). It operates out of the Asia-Pacific area as well as the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
