Do you have any emergency medical knowledge or training, such as CPR or First Aid?

First aid and CPR training for security guards are advantageous for guards. Being under full-time surveillance, they can take control of emergencies by taking the necessary initiative to save lives. For this reason, most companies and organizations will prefer to have CPR and first aid trained guards. Both armed and unarmed security guards can benefit from being CPR certified, improving their career choices and the safety of their work environment.

Security guards are often the first responders to emergency situations, so skills and training in first aid and CPR are highly desirable. If you have completed training in these areas, be sure to let the interviewer know and bring your certifications with you. If you used your first aid or CPR skills in a previous role, give an example. If you have not yet completed this kind of training, you can tell the interviewer that it is something you would be very interested in learning.

Example answer: I have had the opportunity to take First Aid or CPR training. First Aid equips you with the mental know-how and education that allow you to respond promptly in a variety of urgent situations. When you have this training, you have the ability to assess an emergency and immediately work to remedy it for the survival and safety of the victim.

On other sides, CPR was developed for someone to administer to a victim in the event of a cardiac arrest. A cardiac arrest is an often fatal event wherein the heart stops pumping blood unexpectedly. CPR is an incredibly important skill to know, and the best part is that nearly everyone can learn it, especially for security guards skills to deal with emergency situations. I am naturally calm under pressure and good at assessing situations. This type of training would be very helpful in emergency situations I might encounter as a security guard. I am confident that I would be able to successfully use these new skills in a real-life scenario.
