Doraemon
Doraemon is a fictional character in the Japanese manga and animated series of the same name created by Fujiko F. Fujio, the pen name of the writing team Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko. Doraemon is a male robotic earless cat from the 22nd century who travels back in time to help a preteen boy named Nobita. The character's official birth certificate lists his birth date as 3 September 2112 and his city of residency as Kawasaki, Kanagawa, the city where the manga was created. Doraemon was named Japan's "anime ambassador" by the Foreign Ministry in 2008.
Doraemon is a popular animated character of the twenty-first century. Each and every child is aware of this robotic cat. Children are fixated on watching the Doraemon anime TV series, and they prefer reading manga to textbooks. Additionally, its fan base is enormous. The best manga for Japanese children is widely regarded to be the Doraemon series. Free online games these days are very addictive! Children all over the world are under the magical wand of Doraemon. This demonstrates its current popularity.
Following a chain of three events, Hiroshi Fujimoto came up with the original idea for Doraemon. First of all, he wished that a machine existed that would generate ideas for him when he was looking for inspiration for a new manga. Furthermore, he tripped over his daughter's toy. He heard cats fighting in his neighborhood, which was the third thing.
Doraemon is summoned back in time by a young boy named Sewashi Nobi in order to improve the circumstances of his great-great-grandfather, Nobita so that his descendants can live in a better future. In the original timeline, Nobita's life was filled with misery and misfortune, manifested in the form of poor grades and bullying. This culminates in the burning down of a future business he establishes, leaving his family line in financial jeopardy. Sewashi wanted to send a super-robot to protect Nobita in order to change history and improve the Nobi family's fortunes, but with his meager allowance, he could only afford an imperfectly-made factory-rejected toy: an anthropomorphic robot cat named Doraemon.
Dorayaki, a Japanese sweet filled with red bean paste, is Doraemon's favorite food. It was originally referred to as "fudgy pudgy pie" in the English manga, but it has since been changed back to "dorayaki," "yummy buns" in the English dub, and "dora-cakes/bean jam buns" in other versions. It was revealed in one of the manga chapters that his name derives from the Japanese word nora neko, which means "stray cat," and the -emon ending, which is a part of traditional Japanese names. This may explain the origin of his name.
The character's popularity has been compared to Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse, and the character is considered an iconic figure in Japan.
