Dozmary Pool
A small lake called Dozmary Pool can be found in the Cornish civil parish of Altarnun on Bodmin Moor. It is located 16.9 kilometers from the coast and 2 kilometers south of Bolventor. It is also 15 kilometers to the northeast of Bodmin. It first appeared after the last glacial period. One of the sources of the River Fowey is the pool's outflow, which empties into Colliford Lake. The name has also been spelled Dosmery Pool and Dozmaré in the past. It was described by Sabine Baring-Gould at the end of the 19th century as being abundant in fish and surrounded by various signs of Stone Age flint knapping.
Dozmary Pool is a great place for picnics, photography, and peace & quiet, yet it has a really eerie aura. The air might be cold and the mist can appear out of nowhere even in the height of summer. Dozmary Pool, a little but perfectly formed lake, disproves the myth that all of England's most stunning lakes may be found north of Watford Gap. Dozmary Pool, a hauntingly beautiful body of water, blends in with the untamed surroundings of Bodmin Moor. Aside from its aesthetic appeal, the lake is noteworthy for its alleged significance in Arthurian legend: some contend that the lake is the residence of the Lady of the Lake, the enchantress who bestowed Arthur with his legendary sword, Excalibur.
