Dr Nick York works as an Ophthalmologist (Eye Specialist/Eye Surgeon) at Life St Georges Hospital in Port Elizabeth. He has extensive experience treating a wide range of eye conditions, with special interests in cataract surgery, glaucoma, medical retina, and all diseases involving the cornea (the front clear "window" of the eye), including keratoconus, fuchs dystrophy, bullous keratopathy, corneal scars, corneal ulcers, pterygiums, and ocular surface cancers.
After completing his Ophthalmology residency in Cape Town, he went on to complete a sub-specialty fellowship at the prestigious Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, where he became an expert in the most recent techniques in cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, corneal cross-linking, and laser eye surgery. He works at the cutting-edge specialized Eye theatre facilities at Life St Georges Hospital.
