Visiomed Eye and Laser Clinic in Johannesburg has a reputation for providing world-class eye care in a comfortable setting. Its well-established, committed personnel and management team administer South Africa's largest Private Refractive Hospital – a dream begun by its creator, the late Dr. Michiel Kritzinger, the 'Father of Lasik,' who died in 2000.

Drs Michael Muller, Daniel Kritzinger, and Hein van Wyk replaced Dr Michiel Kritzinger and brought Visiomed to even greater levels of knowledge and skill during the following twelve years. Their devotion and enthusiasm honed and developed their talents, ensuring that Visiomed remained at the forefront of medical innovation with the top eye doctors.

Dr Polla Roux, a former Professor of Ophthalmology at Pretoria Academic Hospital, took over Dr Muller's practice after he retired early in October 2014. He is currently a member of a 'Senior Clinical Review Panel' of eye surgeons, together with the rest of the team. Their job is to regularly examine the surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction of any other Visiomed-affiliated surgeons.
