Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke, a British actress, grew up in Oxfordshire, England, after being born in London. Her mother is a businessman, while her father worked as a theater sound designer. Her mother brought her to the "Show Boat" theater show while her father worked on it. At the age of three, she developed a fascination for performing.
She attended St. Edward's School in Oxford from 2000 to 2005 when she made two school plays. After that, she participated in ten plays while studying acting at the famed Drama Centre London. The BBC soap drama Doctors (2000) had Emilia in a cameo appearance at this time.
Emilia had her first acting part in the television film Triassic Attack (2010) in 2010, following her graduation from the Drama Centre London. Her breakthrough came in 2011 when she took over as the first ambassador for the international Nursing Now campaign from fellow rookie Tamzin Merchant.
In a personal essay published in The New Yorker in 2019, Emilia stated that she had experienced two potentially fatal brain aneurysms in 2011 and 2013. In 2019, she established the nonprofit, SameYou, whose mission is to increase young people's access to neurorehabilitation following a brain injury or stroke.
