Enriqueta's Sandwich Shop

The sole Cuban restaurant in Wynwood has found success by serving cheap sandwiches baked with buttery Cuban bread and loaded with pig, croquettes, and other fillings to hipsters and tourists. Longtime favorites include the steak sandwich and the frita (Cuban hamburger). While lunch specials are ample and attractive, they don't quite compare to the temptation of ordering an afternoon cortadito at the walk-up window.

It can be tempting to discount this Wynwood establishment, which is constantly crowded, as fake or commercial. What are hipsters' opinions of Cuban cuisine? It seems they know a lot after all. Despite the crowds, Enriqueta's sandwiches are still cooked to order and delivered quickly! The best sandwich is still the original: Although we usually steer clear of cheese and pickles, the flavors are spot on. If you want more pork, order the Doble, or for something truly decadent, order the Preparado, which has two croquetas filled within.
