Sarussi Subs
This eatery likes to break the rules when it comes to Cuban sandwiches. Instead of mustard, Sarussi uses his special sauce, a liquid sofrito with overtones of cumin that packs a powerful taste. The bread can be requested with melted butter drizzled on top and has an Italian flavor rather than a Cuban one. Purists take note: Although a classic Cubano won't be found here, you'll still receive a fantastic sandwich.
Long before Subway's footlong sandwiches existed, Miami residents adored Sarussi Subs' gigantic sandwiches. Although the restaurant's dining area isn't particularly attractive, the majority of patrons choose takeout instead, clutching huge white paper bags with Sarussi's secret sauce oozing through. The classic sandwich, which consists of smoked ham, baked pork, mozzarella cheese, pickles, and a secret sauce, is still without a doubt a fan favorite, but Sarussi's expanding menu also offers steak, hog, chicken, and chorizo sandwiches.
