Excellent Source of Healthy Fats
The omega-3 fats EPA and DHA are found in both krill oil and fish oil. However, some data shows that krill oil fats may be simpler for the body to utilize than fish oil fats because most omega-3 fats in fish oil are stored as triglycerides. However, a significant part of the omega-3 fats in krill oil can be present in the form of molecules known as phospholipids, which may be simpler to absorb into circulation. A few studies revealed that krill oil was more successful than fish oil at increasing omega-3 levels, and it was suggested that this was due to their different types of omega-3 fats.
Another research compared the quantities of EPA and DHA in krill oil and fish oil and discovered that both oils were equally efficient in increasing omega-3 levels in the blood. More study is required to evaluate whether krill oil is a more effective, bioavailable source of omega-3 fatty acids than fish oil.
