Fayetteville Technical Community College – Funeral Service Education Department
Fayetteville Technical Community College's funeral care department has been there since 1974. The American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) has granted recognition to Fayetteville Technical Community College's associate degree program in funeral service education. They provide an associate degree in funeral service as well as a diploma program in funeral directing.
The majority of the Funeral Service degree, which covers funerals, can be completed online. Simultaneously, the Funeral Directing diploma is only offered online and is intended for individuals who aspire to serve as funeral directors without embalming.
The Funeral Service Education curriculum allows students to gain proficiency in basic funeral service skills. In addition to general education classes, there are technical subjects, including human anatomy, embalming theory and practice, embalming chemistry, restorative arts, funeral law, and funeral home operations.
By training program graduates in all areas of the funeral industry, the American Board of Funeral Service Education and the Fayetteville Technical Community College Funeral Service Education Program hope to prepare students for beginning work in the funeral industry. Following this mission, the following Learning Outcomes are adopted by its program.
Students can learn the fundamentals of funeral service by enrolling in the Funeral Service Education program. In addition to the general education classes required by the curriculum, students are also taught technical subjects such as human anatomy, embalming theory and practice, embalming chemistry, therapeutic arts, funeral law, and funeral home operations. No wonder it is one of the best accredited online mortuary science schools.
