Fish Creek Falls
Fish Creek Falls is located approximately 5 miles to the east of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in the Routt National Forest. In Colorado's Rabbit Ears Range, Fish Creek originates from a number of little lakes. This waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Colorado.
Fish Creek Falls, which plunge 280 feet in the Yampa Valley not far from Steamboat Springs, are accessible to people of all ages and levels of fitness thanks to a paved half-mile trail that is appropriate for wheelchairs and strollers. The falls can be seen all year round, but springtime is the best time to watch them. When snowmelt hits its height, a deafening boom can be heard due to the rise in water volume.
You can climb 2.5 miles past the foot of Fish Creek's falls to reach its upper falls. The trail winds through the canyon and is fairly difficult, climbing more than 1,600 feet in elevation. Three hours total are needed for the hike.
