The French International School of Maputo Gustave Eiffel was established over 40 years ago and has since evolved into the Gustave Eiffel High School and the Gustave Eiffel International French High School. It is part of a long history of teaching French in a multilingual and multicultural setting, strengthening ties to Mozambique and encouraging a true opening to the world.

The French Ministry of Education has approved the entire junior high through senior year curriculum at the French International School of Maputo Gustave Eiffel. It is a crucial component of the AEFE network, or Agency for French Education Abroad, which consists of 535 educational institutions spread across 139 nations and is the only network of its kind in the world.

The French International School of Maputo Gustave Eiffel provides an educational framework that is centered on each student's development so that they can fully realize their potential and pursue the higher studies they have chosen, either in France or abroad, thanks to the support of the French Embassy and a very dedicated parents' association.

A special educational cycle that is essential to every student's success is nursery school. It is distinguished by three primary axes:

  • A school that is sensitive to the needs of young students and works to ensure their emotional well-being and confidence.
  • A school that arranges particular teaching strategies and gets students ready for basic education, especially by helping them develop their language skills, which are crucial for learning organization and accessibility.
  • A school where kids are happy to study, grow, and live together.

The school week for elementary students is twenty-four hours long. Students can benefit from extra educational activities in small groups, at their teachers' suggestion, to assist struggling students in working independently or for activities outlined in the school project.

The Elementary programs' instructional initiatives:

  • Basic education (cycle 2, from CP to CE2)
  • Consolidation (cycle 3, from CM1 to sixth)
  • Comprehensive research (cycle 4, from fifth to third)

Middle school curricula specify the fundamental concepts and skills that students must learn throughout the cycle. They make up the national framework that educators use to plan their instruction while taking into account each student's unique learning style.

The programs, which are meant to be easily understood and simple, are designed to enhance teaching quality and encourage the success of every student. The goals of the school are well-defined and based on a progression that is modified based on the students' learning.

The curricula at the high school are rigorous. Scientific disciplines offer programs that teach the distinctiveness of scientific reasoning and are grounded in theoretical concepts. It aids students in comprehending the unique aspects of scientific knowledge, including its procedures, practices, and social implications.
