Fruits Basket
Natsuki Takaya is the author and illustrator of the "Fruits Basket" manga series. From 1998 to 2006, the series was serialized in Hakusensha's "Hana to Yume" magazine and later published in 23 tankobon volumes. The plot revolves around Tohru Honda, a high school student who is living in a tent after her mother's death. She is adopted by the wealthy Sohma family, who discover that Tohru has the special ability to transform members of their family into animals of the Chinese zodiac when hugged by someone of the opposite gender.
Tohru learns more about the Sohma family's dark past and the curse that has plagued them for generations as she becomes more involved with them. She helps the family members confront their fears and heal their emotional wounds through her kindness and compassion. "Fruits Basket" is known for its exploration of the human psyche and the effects of trauma, as well as its themes of love, family, and acceptance.
