Lovely Complex

Aya Nakahara's manga series "Lovely Complex" is written and illustrated by her. From 2001 to 2006, the series was serialized in Shueisha's "Bessatsu Margaret" magazine and later published in 17 tankobon volumes. The plot revolves around two high school students, Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Otani. Risa is a tall girl who has always been self-conscious about her height, whereas Otani is a short boy who is self-conscious about his own height. Despite their differences, the two become friends and eventually fall in love with each other.

Risa and Otani navigate the ups and downs of their relationship as well as the challenges of high school life throughout the series. They face misunderstandings, jealous rivals, and their own insecurities, but they eventually grow closer as they learn to accept and appreciate each other for who they are. "Lovely Complex" is known for its witty dialogue, romantic moments, and heartwarming moments, as well as its exploration of themes such as self-acceptance, friendship, and love.
