Garozzo’s

Both Garozzo's Italian restaurants in the Greater Kansas City Area are owned by Michael Garozzo. Michael was born and reared in St. Louis' "Hill." He began his restaurant career as a busboy, with a hope of one day owning a restaurant. Michael's father Salvatore and uncle Alfio, both lifelong waiters in prestigious restaurants, pushed him to achieve his ambition. Michael also wanted to be able to replicate the restaurant experience at home, so he started bottling his Sugo (tomato sauce), Diablo sauce, Amogio, and House Italian dressing. He meticulously follows each recipe and ensures that the sauces are available at most grocery stores in the Kansas City Metro Area.

Garozzo's began selling the Chicken Spiedini (freshly cooked, never frozen) in most local grocers in 2016. Please ask for Garozzo's Chicken Spiedini by name if you don't find it in your favorite meat category. Michael was named Restaurateur of the Year by the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association in 2001, and he served as President of the GKCRA in 2017. Ingram's Magazine, The Pitch, and Kansas City Magazine also named Garozzo's the Best Italian Restaurant in 2021.
