Gild Hall A Thompson Hotel

Even taxi drivers struggle to locate the hotel, which is at the junction of Gold and Platt streets (the address is Gold Street, but the entrance is on Platt Street). The New York Stock Exchange, St. Paul's Chapel, and the A, C, 2, 3, 4, 5, and J subway lines are all within a few blocks of Gild Hall. A short distance from the hotel is the World Trade Center, the 9/11 Memorial, and the Santiago Calatrava-designed "Oculus" World Trade Center transportation hub. The Financial District practically disappears at night, but in recent years, a number of opulent high-rise apartment buildings have appeared.

Gild Hall offers seven different types of rooms and suites, starting with the 230-square-foot King Superior and 300-square-foot Double Deluxe. The King Deluxe and King Premium are the following accommodations; both are about 300 square feet, although the latter has 12-foot-high ceilings. King suites are 560 square feet in size, followed by the Thompson Suite at 820 square feet and the Penthouse at 865 square feet. A library with a large selection of books is also located on the second level of Hall. The room has dark wood paneling, oriental rugs, and red leather seats, giving the impression of being a grandfather's study. Felice Ristorante & Wine Bar, a non-hotel establishment, is located next to the lobby/library lounge area and serves Tuscan food and wine for lunch and dinner in addition to breakfast and brunch fare including organic eggs, sunflower toast, and strawberry-compote pancakes.
