Go up Dubai’s Burj Khalifa
Dubai is known for its stunning buildings, and looming above them, all is the Burj Khalifa, designed like a deep-space rocket and the world's tallest structure at 828 meters. It's a beautiful marvel of construction and engineering, and the most popular way to take in the wonderful views is to visit the observation deck on the 124th level (1483ft). Tickets for "At the Top Sky", the world's highest outdoor observation deck at 1820 feet, may also be purchased on the 148th floor.
The Burj Khalifa was designed by a team led by Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the same firm that created the Sears Tower in Chicago, the previous highest structure in the world. The tripartite Y-shaped floor geometry is intended to maximize residential and hotel space. The building's height is supported by a buttressed central core and wings. Although the design was inspired by Tower Palace III, the central core of the Burj Khalifa includes all vertical transit save egress stairs within each of the wings. The building also has a cladding system that is meant to endure the scorching summer temperatures in Dubai. It has 57 elevators and 8 escalators in total.
