Godavari Fourth Bridge
The Godavari Fourth Bridge or Kovvur–Rajahmundry 4th Bridge is built across the Godavari River in Rajahmundry, India. This dual bridge connects Kovvur to Diwancheruvu Junction in Rajamahendravaram via Katheru, Konthamuru, and Palacherla areas in Rajamahendravaram City. The length of this bridge is roughly 5.0625 kilometers.
The foundation stone for the bridge was laid in 2009 by then Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The fourth bridge was supposed to be finished in 2012, but due to numerous delays, it wasn't made traffic-ready until 2015. Due to delays, the estimated cost of the bridge increased to Rs. 800 crore from Rs. 512 crore. Although it was anticipated that this bridge would reduce traffic through Rajahmundry City, some multi-axle vehicles continue to use the previous route because of the congested road that connects the bridge from Gundugolanu to Kovvur.
