Gogol Festival

Gogol Festival is a multidisciplinary international contemporary art and film festival held annually in Kyiv, Ukraine, and dedicated to the legendary writer Mykola Gogol. Theater, music, film, literature, and visual art are all featured at the festival. Vladislav Troitskyi, director and producer of the DAKh Center for Contemporary Art, launched GOGOLFEST in 2007 on his own initiative.

The festival is held in places that are unsuitable for traditional art, in keeping with current trends. Theater, music, film, literature, and visual art are among the five genres of art featured at the festival. The festival has a long tradition of collaborating between artistic genres; for example, audiovisual shows and partnerships with scientists are both prevalent. In most years, the festival takes place in September. For example, Gogol Festival 2013 took place from September 13 through September 22, 2013.

Short films are frequently included at Gogol Festival , while full-length films have sometimes been shown. The films shown are frequently of worldwide scope and experimental in nature. Readings by contemporary authors have been a regular feature of the event. The festival also includes events where consumers might meet representatives from publishing houses.
