Great Teacher Onizuka

One of the best animes by Pierrot Studio, the series shows us how fun classrooms can be from both the teacher's and students' perspectives.

At the age of twenty-two, Eikichi Onizuka, an ex-biker gang leader notorious for his conquests in Shonan, has an unconventional dream: he aspires to become the most exceptional high school teacher in Japan. His motivation isn't rooted in a passion for education but rather in the desire to secure a loving teenage spouse for his later years.

On the surface, "Great Teacher Onizuka" might appear perverted and money-driven, but beneath this facade, there's more to his character than meets the eye. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is appointed as the homeroom teacher for Class 3-4 at the prestigious Holy Forest Academy, a position he secures through some unconventional methods, including a suplex on the Vice Principal. His newfound role puts all his abilities to the test, as this class is known for its notorious reputation.

Class 3-4's students hold an intense disdain for their teachers, continuing to use psychological warfare tactics to mentally break down every new homeroom teacher they encounter, often forcing them to resign and leave the school.

Onizuka, however, stands out from the typical instructor. He's prepared to face any challenge that comes his way, offering support using his unpredictable and unconventional methods, even if it involves daring acts like leaping off a building to save a suicidal student. Gradually, through his eccentric charm and fun-loving nature, Class 3-4 begins to understand how enjoyable school can be when they have the privilege of being the students of the famous "Great Teacher Onizuka."
