Great Zimbabwe National Monument

Great Zimbabwe National Monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Zimbabwe's southern region, is one of the country's must-see attractions. The Stone Works, which span from the 11th to the 15th centuries, are extremely spectacular.

The ruins are still in fair condition and have been beautifully conserved. Hill Complex, Valley Ruins, and the Great Enclosure are the three components of the historical site. The Hill Complex was formerly the city's religious heart. A hiking session of 20-25 minutes is required to reach the summit of the Hill Complex.

The remains encompass a large area, including a high acropolis where kings and leaders formerly resided. It's a fascinating historical site to see and discover on your journey to Zimbabwe.

The remains of more basic houses are dispersed across the valley around the Great Zimbabwe National Monument, all of which were constructed using precisely cut granite blocks. The discovery of items such as Chinese porcelain and Arab coins from the East African coast at this location shows that Great Zimbabwe was once a strong and prosperous trading center.
