Matobo National Park
Matobo National Park is Zimbabwe's oldest National Park and one of the best places to visit. It was founded in 1926 and is home to a wide range of vegetation and wildlife. White Rhinos, Impala, Antelopes, Black Eagles, and Leopards are among the animals that live on the property.
The entire Matobo National Park may be explored in two to three hours. The best time to visit the National Park is from July to October, when it is dry.
Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe's spiritual birthplace, is home to some of the world's most spectacular granite landscapes. The fascinating granite rock formations and lunar landscape of balancing rocks, known as kopjes – massive boulders stacked on top of each other, as if about to topple over – are not only a remarkable sight and one of Zimbabwe's top tourist attractions, but also a stunning natural spectacle and work of art.
This location has a fascinating history, dating back to a time when molten rock exploded over the globe approximately 2000 million years ago.
