Health Informatics Technology in Population Healthcare Analytics
This course is one of nine that make up the Certified Lifestyle Medicine Executive MicroMasters program, which includes a capstone exam and is one of the Best Online Health Care Courses. You may also apply to Doane University to get your MBA online for around $10,500 after you finish the program (learn more about the program here). The branch of research known as health informatics technology (HIT) is concerned with the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of healthcare data. HIT is critical for population health to solve the concerns of safety, quality, efficacy, and efficiency in healthcare systems. Electronic health records and data are dynamic, and HIT allows us to use aggregate data to refine and improve our understanding of which therapies are most clinically and cost-effective for subgroups of patients within a population.
Rather than focusing on hospital-centric health informatics, this course focuses on how to operationalize informatics solutions to solve critical public health concerns that affect individuals, families, communities, and the environment in which they live. This course is part of the Certified Lifestyle Medicine Executive MicroMasters program. The Lifestyle Medicine Competencies Professional Certificate program provides an overview of lifestyle medicine.
