Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha was a commercial success, and it went on to become one of cable television's highest-rated series. It was also one of the most popular non-English TV series on Netflix.

After correctly accusing the clinic's head doctor of overdoing patients' treatment for profit, Yoon Hye-jin (Shin Min-a) loses her job. She travels to Gongjin, a picturesque beach village, where she meets Hong Du-sik, a jack-of-all-trades (Kim Seon-ho). Du-sik is well-liked in the community because he takes care of the seniors and is not afraid to do odd jobs. The two people's paths meet multiple times by happenstance, and they develop feelings for one other, while Du-sik continuously saves Hye-jin from danger.
