House of Cards

The political thriller House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, was the first original Netflix show to premiere in 2013. The show has received over 30 Emmy nominations, and Spacey and Wright have both won Golden Globes for their portrayals of Washington power couple Frank and Claire Underwood.

Before Spacey was sacked from House of Cards in October 2017 after sexual misconduct claims, the show had shown five seasons. In 2022, the sixth season was released. Even though the series offers a clear picture of politicians' win-at-all-costs ruthlessness, you might find yourself pulling for the Underwoods, regardless of how morally reprehensible their actions are.
