Ibera Wetlands
The Ibera Wetlands (Esteros del Ibera in Spanish) are one of Argentina's lesser-known tourist attractions. They are located in the country's far northeast, in Corrientes Province. The swamps, lakes, bogs, and lagoons form one of the world's most important and well-preserved natural ecosystems, covering an area roughly the size of Switzerland. Ibera Wetlands is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including adorable capybaras, otters, and deer, as well as spine-chilling anacondas and alligators. It is also home to approximately 350 different bird species! You've come to the right place if you're looking for incredibly cool places to visit in Argentina.
Kayaks can be rented here, as well as boat tours of the wetlands. While kayaking is significantly less expensive than taking a boat, your view of the wildlife will be more limited, so spending money on a boat tour is recommended to make the most of your visit.
