International British School of Bucharest is a small, friendly, and happy school with a strong sense of community. With more than 20 years of education, the school attracts students from over 30 nationalities to join a mutual campus. Students at the International British School of Bucharest follow the National Curriculum of England, within an international school context. The school believes as central to the curriculum the need to develop students as responsible, mature, community-orientated citizens of the world.
In Year 11, students at the International British School of Bucharest do tests from Cambridge University. In Year 12 and Year 13, they study for the International A Level. The school has 28 subjects to test in and does Cambridge Checkpoint exams. Besides English, the school teaches Romanian, French, Spanish, and German. There are no more than 23 students in each year group, and there are assistant teachers and a British professional in all junior classes.
Outside hours of learning inside the classroom, there are various extracurricular activities designed for students in the International British School Of Bucharest. Club activities range from academic pursuits, such as debating and Kangaroo mathematics, to arts and crafts activities, sporting activities, and social clubs such as the Young Explorers Club and the Tea and Chocolate Club. The club program aims to provide students with the opportunity to experience a wide range of new activities in the hope that they might find an activity that will become a lifelong passion.
