Established in 1969 as the International School Moshi, their institution is the first in Africa to adopt the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. In 2019, the school further solidified its commitment to global education by joining the UWC (United World Colleges) movement and rebranding as UWC East Africa. As the 18th UWC school worldwide and the second in Africa, they take pride in their rich legacy.

Situated across two campuses in Moshi (Kilimanjaro) and Arusha, UWC East Africa is a longstanding and fully accredited independent IB school in northern Tanzania. With a comprehensive residential program and a curriculum encompassing the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the IB Diploma, their school caters to children aged 3 to 19 years. Their diverse student body, comprising approximately 660 students from well over 100 nationalities, reflects their commitment to providing an inclusive, globally-minded education.

International School Moshi
embraces a holistic approach to education, ensuring a supportive environment for local and expatriate students. With campuses boasting over 300 residential students and an additional 300-day students, they prioritize individual care while offering a broad spectrum of educational opportunities.

The Arusha Campus, situated on the western side of Arusha, accommodates over 300 students and provides a breathtaking view of Mt Meru. Alongside the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and IB Diploma Programme, residential facilities for IB Diploma students were inaugurated in August 2019.

In the Kilimanjaro Region, the Moshi Campus has been a cornerstone of education for 54 years, boasting around 340 students. As pioneers of the IB Diploma in Africa since the 1970s, the campus offers the PYP, MYP, and IB Diploma. Featuring residential houses for students above eight years old, approximately two-thirds of Moshi students are residential, with others being day students living in and around Moshi. The campus offers a stunning close-up view of Mt Kilimanjaro, adding to their unique educational experience.
