Iron Man
Iron Man is a superhero film from the United States that was released in 2008. It is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios and released by Paramount Pictures (MCU). Following his release from a terrorist group's captivity, Tony Stark, a world-famous industrialist and master engineer, creates a mechanical suit of armor and becomes the superhero, Iron Man.
The first film in the MCU's Phase One, Iron Man, premiered in Sydney on April 14, 2008, and was released in the United States on May 2. It was the eighth-highest earning film of 2008, grossing over $585 million. It was considered one of the ten best films of 2008 by the American Film Institute, and it received two Academy Award nominations for Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects at the 81st Academy Awards. Iron Man 2 (2010) and Iron Man 3 (2012) are the two sequels that have been released (2013).
