Jelawang Waterfall
One of the tallest waterfalls in Southeast Asia is Jelawang Waterfall, often referred to as Stong Waterfall by others. This magnificent seven-tiered waterfall, which is located in the state of Kelantan, is 303 meters tall! This waterfall, located in a lush tropical rainforest, is undoubtedly beautiful. Jelawang Waterfall is located in the Gunung Stong State Forest Park, away from the busy towns, and not far from the village of Dabong.
Even from the side of the road, you can see this waterfall well! Hiring a guide to lead you through the bush is strongly advised if you want to have a closer look at the falls. The distance to the lower cascade from the entrance is only 250 meters, and getting it is rather simple. Simply cross the bridge in front of the first waterfall you come across to get to the higher falls, and then you'll have to trek up for approximately an hour and a half to get to the base of the towering waterfall.
If you want to spend the night in the forest while listening to the tranquil sounds of birds tweeting and crickets chirping, the park also has a few camping sites. The view of the sunrise from the campsite is equally breathtaking!
