Keio Academy of New York
Let's go to another equally famous school in New York, Keio Academy of New York. Since its establishment in 1990, Keio Academy of New York has accepted students from thirty different countries. Information sessions are held in the US and Japan as well as other major cities. There are three admission periods in every admission year. Luckily for candidates who want to join this school, applicants may apply up to three times.
Keio's campus includes several indoor and outdoor athletic facilities for Physical Education classes and athletic activities. You don't need to fear the lack of a playground because some of the facilities at the neighboring Manhattanville College are also available for use by Keio's students.
The curriculum is influenced by both the American and Japanese educational systems. Classes are mainly taught in English, but Japanese is required of all students. School policy is that English be spoken at all times during the day. Teachers urge pupils to participate in class and to think for themselves. Debating and public speaking are essential components of the curriculum, as is citizenship education.
Language appreciation and mastery are valued as fundamental tools for study, social connection, and personal fulfillment at Keio Academy of New York. The precise, empathetic, and imaginative use of language lies at the center of civilization. The school combines two illustrious linguistic traditions: English and Japanese.
Regular supplementary academic classes in literature, history, technology, and science are held for all year groups during Senior Academic Extension (Grades 11&12) to enhance their thinking and academic experience. These are taught outside of the regular school day. These courses for Junior Academic Extension (Grades 9&10) include passages for reading and discussion in English in small groups.
