Lycée Français De New York
Lycée Francais de New York is a premier private, independent French and American school providing a bilingual, multilingual education in New York. The curriculum blends characteristics of our two primary academic traditions, France and the United States, to create a vibrant multilingual learning environment that focuses on student learning, development, and well-being while unleashing each student's creative potential.
Students thrive in a rigorous, bilingual atmosphere at the Lycée. To prepare students for the problems of modern society, the school integrates project-based learning, rigorous academics, and creative discovery. Student-directed studies in culture, music, and the visual arts complement intensive study for the French Baccalaureate.
The school's facilities are a strong point when compared to other schools, the school has:
- Two gymnasiums with about 12,000 square feet of space each, giving two regulation basketball courts and space for a number of other activities such as wall climbing, volleyball, soccer, and gymnastics.
- Rooftop playground for all elementary school children, complete with a playing area, playground equipment, imaginative building blocks in a specific safety, and padded flooring.
Everyone may relax knowing that at Lycée Français De New York, school-provided lunches are served in a 225-seat cafeteria with a full-service kitchen serving freshly cooked, healthful, and organic menu selections.
There is also a clothing code, but no uniforms! Girls dress in gray pants or skirts, a white button-down shirt, a navy blue cardigan, and dark shoes and outerwear. Boys are dressed in gray pants, a white button-down shirt, a navy blue tie, and a cardigan. Both boys and girls can wear a Lycee sweatshirt, which can be purchased from the school's online store.
