Kidis Yared
The third one in Top 5 Highest Mountains in Ethiopia that Toplist would like to introduce to you is Kidis Yared. Kidis Yared has a height of 4453 meters. It is located within the Simien mountain ranges. The Simien Mountains (also spelled Simen and Semien) are located in northern Ethiopia, north east of Gondar in the Amhara region, and are part of the Ethiopian Highlands. They are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and include the Simien Mountains National Park- the largest national park in Ethiopia. The mountains are made up of plateaus separated by valleys and rising to pinnacles. The highest Ethiopian mountain is Ras Dejen at 4,550 m, with Kidis Yared at 4,453 m as the second highest; other notable peaks include Mount Biuat at 4,437 m.
The scenery is one-of-a-kind, with deep valleys and high plateaus. Human settlements are an integral part of the landscape. For a living, the communities cultivate the fertile hillsides. Tourists who hike up the mountain are drawn to these settlers.
