Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo
The Kröller-Müller Museum is located in Hoge Veluwe National Park, one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands, and houses the world's second-largest Van Gogh collection. Here are about 90 of his paintings and 180 of his sketches. Helene Kröller-Müller, a German art collector who recognized the artist's worth early on and devoted her life collecting his work, is the owner of the massive collection. The museum also holds rare works by Old Masters such as Claude Monet and Piet Mondriaan. It also has a magnificent garden with over 160 sculptures on its grounds. The museum, together with the beautiful natural reserve, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Netherlands.
The Kröller-Müller Museum is particularly well-known for its huge sculpture garden, which spans more than 75 acres (30 hectares) and is one of Europe's largest, housing a great collection of modern and contemporary sculptures. Helene Kröller-vision Müller's a symbiotic relationship between art, architecture, and nature is reflected in the garden. Auguste Rodin, Henry Moore, Jean Dubuffet, Mark di Suvero, Lucio Fontana, Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, Fritz Wotruba, Joep van Lieshout, and many more are represented in the collection.
