Lake Batabat
Lake Batabat is located in the southwestern Shahbuz district of Azerbaijan, despite the usual wisdom - embraced by the snowy mountains surrounding the green and full of flowers, at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level, creating a beautiful landscape that rarely has anywhere in the world. Although swimming and fishing are not widely seen in Batabat lake, camping and hiking long, and of course the immense beauty of nature become the best offers of the lake for entertainment. Lake Batabat deserves an indispensable name in the list of best lakes to visit in Azerbaijan.
One of the most iconic natural attractions hidden in the Shahbuz area at an altitude of 2,500 meters above sea level is a fascinating peat island full of mysterious drifting on the picturesque lake Batabat. The rough beauty of the area, especially when covered in wildflowers blooming, along with the accessibility from the city of Nakhchivan (located about 65 km north), becomes a picnic spot. The weekend is very famous among local Nakhchivan. Lake Batabat is the pride of Nakhchivan and is not without a good reason. Today, Batabat lake is a popular sight for families in Nakhchivan, and when visitors come here in May, the lake area is scattered with beautiful cabbage and other wildflowers. Some local families went to the fields, picked mustard flowers, and organized picnics.
