Lando Norris
Lando Norris, at 17, was recruited as McLaren's test and reserve driver. In 2017, he replaced the team's outgoing driver, 2009 world champion Jenson Button, after a good performance in testing at the Hungaroring.
Norris, like Button, tried out a kart for the first time at the Clay Pigeon kart circuit. Norris and his elder brother Oliver began competing in karting events when they were seven years old.
The Norris brothers had the support of their father, Adam Norris, a director at financial services firm Hargreaves Lansdown who eventually founded his own investing firm. In 2016, he was believed to be worth more than £200 million. He is on the list of most famous racing in the world.
Lando Norris participated in both the KF and Rotax karting divisions at one point, at the suggestion of his father, to extend his experience and give him a feel for other types of equipment and tyres. Lando delivered an incredible series of titles as a result of the intense training.
He won the 2013 WSK Euro series with one round remaining. Despite missing out on the European KF title the following year, he won the global KF championship in 2014.
