Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton, full name Lewis Carl Hamilton, is a British race car driver who was a Formula One (F1) Grand Prix racing driver. He holds the F1 record for most career race victories and is tied for the most drivers' titles with Michael Schumacher (seven). He became the first Black driver to win the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 2008.
Changes to the regulations in 2014, which required the use of turbo-hybrid engines, marked the beginning of a hugely successful phase for Hamilton, during which he won six more drivers' titles. During a fierce duel with teammate Nico Rosberg, he won two consecutive championships in 2014 and 2015. Following Rosberg's retirement, Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari became Hamilton's closest competitor in two dramatic championship clashes in which Hamilton twice overcame mid-season point deficits to win successive titles in 2017 and 2018. In 2019 and 2020, he won his third and fourth straight titles, tying Schumacher's record of seven driver titles.
