Lime Cay

Lime Cay - a small, low-lying island cay with one of Jamaica's most gorgeous beaches is only fifteen minutes by boat from Port Royal. Lime Cay, the largest of the several little cays off Port Royal's coast, is unusable by people since it is occasionally drowned when the tide comes in. Lime Cay has been the target of numerous frauds and hoaxes in which the cay is "sold" to naïve customers as a possible location for a private resort. Don't be deceived, Lime Cay is a part of Jamaica, and its beaches are available to everyone who can get out there.

On weekdays, clothing-optional sunbathing is allowed because there will almost certainly be no one nearby. On Sundays, though, the mood and tone completely shift, as the tiny island pulsates with life, laughter, and good times. On Sundays, Lime Cay is a popular beach destination for city dwellers, with many mooring their boats at Morgan's Harbour Marina and sailing out for the afternoon carrying lunch and refreshments, as there are no facilities on the island. A shuttle or boat rental for the day can be arranged from Morgan's Harbour, but for the more adventurous guests, a small charge will persuade a fisherman in the town of Port Royal to give you a trip to the island in the morning and return for you in the evening.
