Look for Solutions, Not Problems
By focusing on a solution, you give yourself a path to get away from the negativity. You should keep in mind that dwell on problems won't get things resolved in the end.
Do not dwell on all the problems, instead make them into small, compact pieces. Once you've understood them, completely change your focus. Put the problems out of your mind. Consider the many options. This is crucial while dealing with negative people in general as well as unforeseen occurrences. Find a way to gently leave the situation so you may leave the area without having to think about how stressful it is to be around them.
