Manage Your Time and Attention
Negative people may take a lot of your time and effort. They not only slow down face-to-face interactions, but your stress over dealing with them may remain in your mind long after you have left their zone. It's important to manage your time and attention so that you don't devote too much of it to negativity. The more time you spend thinking negatively, the harder it is to keep positive thinking.
If a negative person is occupying too much of your time, you can:
- Give them ignore replies to make them disinterested.
- Mention your hectic schedule and give a rain check.
- Politely deny requests to spend time together.
- Distract yourself with other activities if you find yourself obsessing or worrying excessively about a negative person.
