"Love Story (Taylor’s Version)" by Taylor Swift

"Love Story" is a song written and sung by the American singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift. Big Machine Records released it on September 15, 2008, as the debut single from Swift's second studio album, Fearless (2008). "Love Story", inspired by a love interest who was unpopular among Swift's family and friends, is based on the plot of William Shakespeare's 16th-century play Romeo and Juliet. Contrary to Shakespeare's tragic climax, the two characters, Romeo and Juliet, end up in a marriage proposal in the song's tale.

"Love Story", a pop radio hit, was the first country song to top the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 list. It has sold over six million copies in the United States and over eighteen million copies globally.
