Luke Holden, a third-generation lobsterman, started the family-run Luke's Lobsters company, which obtains its lobsters from the Maine coast using sustainable practices. Three stores in the city each offer 4- or 6-ounce portions of fresh lobster meat filled into a normal, pesto, or truffle butter bun.
The Luke's crew established its own fish sourcing and manufacturing company in Saco, Maine, in 2013. By purchasing directly from fishermen we know and trust and managing their seafood along the path from the dock to your plate, Luke's became genuinely vertically integrated.
In addition to being a certified B Corp that year, Luke's expanded into branded groceries in 2018 and introduced its flash-frozen lobster meat, tails, and seafood dinners in grocery stores across the nation. Additionally, Luke's began its online market in 2020 to deliver seafood directly from Maine to doorsteps across the nation as restaurants were closing and markets for sustainable seafood were disappearing.
