Madagascar Climate

One of the many reasons to visit Madagascar is weather. The island's steep topography keeps it apart from Africa. Neither too hot nor too chilly. It might be the best address if you don't care about the weather, whether it's hot or cold. There are two distinct seasons in Madagascar, one hot and wet from November to April and the other colder and drier from May to October.

The east coast experiences the wettest and most dependable rainfall, with a maximum of 3,700 mm per year, and a sub-equatorial climate influenced by easterly trade winds. The west coast of the nation has severe coastal erosion and is often drier. Less than 800 mm of rainfall fall in the semi-desert regions of the southwest and the extreme south each year. The annual average temperature ranges from 16°C to 19°C in the middle mountains and from 23°C to 27°C along the seaside.

The ideal months to travel to Madagascar are April through October. Less rainfall during this dry season means ideal conditions for trekking, wildlife viewing, and engaging in water sports. The country's roads are clear, so even though hotel rates are higher now, properties will be simpler to reach. Additionally, temperatures will be more pleasant than they are during the rainy season.
