Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
In Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Princess Aurora (played by Elle Fanning) is now Queen of the Moors, a mystical territory bordering human kingdoms - as ordered by her fairy godmother, the evil and fiercely protective Maleficent (played by Angelina Jolie).
Aurora is a loving (and naive) queen who wants only the best things for her people and believes that peace may be mediated between all nations, despite her lack of a human realm. She is presented with this chance when Prince Phillip (played by Harris Dickinson) proposes to her. Aurora accepts a dinner invitation on behalf of Maleficent and herself, believing that this union would bridge the gap between humans and faeries, which laid the scene for treachery, exile, death, and rebirth.
Maleficent has become such a common costume for Halloween festivals because this story is so beautiful. Angelina Jolie epitomizes Maleficent's elegance and frightening beauty, as well as a sensitive side built on by years of rejection and distrust, despite her sharp angles and black attire. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil deserves its spot on our list of the best modern fairy tale movies of all time.
