Mr Hadi Zambarakji
Mr. Hadi Zambarakji is a highly accomplished consultant eye surgeon specializing in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery. He works with private patients at four prestigious clinics in London and Essex. Miss Molly Mapp is his private practice secretary, and Miss Rajinder Bharaj, Specialist Optometrist, assists him in clinic.
Mr. Zambarakji and his colleagues are dedicated to delivering first-rate service and ensuring that you are completely happy with the level of care they offer. Mr Zambarakji has over 15 years of experience as a consultant, as well as a comprehensive spectrum of specialty skills in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery, as well as medical retina. Retinal detachment, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, vitreomacular traction, and severe diabetic eye disease are examples of this, as are macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy.
In terms of cataract services, this includes premium lens implants (toric and multifocal/extended range) to provide greater independence from spectacles. He was an early user of local anaesthetic for vitreoretinal surgery and performs the majority of his procedures as a day case under local anaesthesia with sedation.
Mr Zambarakji's profession is focused on patient care, but he also devotes time to medical research, which he has presented at national and international conferences. Throughout his training, he was involved in research and continues to do so as a consultant. Imaging in retinal disorders, vitreomacular diseases and macular hole, diabetic macular oedema, experimental therapeutics for diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, problems of high myopia, and angiogenesis are among his research interests. On PubMed, you may find a comprehensive list of his scientific articles.
He has also served as a college tutor and regional adviser for The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, clinical governance head for ophthalmology at Barts Health, and examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Furthermore, he is highly involved in education and training, and he supervises a busy vitreoretinal fellowship program for prospective retina doctors at Whipps Cross University Hospital, Barts Health.
